Shilo shall rise
The concept:
A display combining interior and exterior, past and present, connecting the archaeological site to the biblical stories.
The technology:
A wide-screen panoramic projection (over 13 m wide) on glass whose degree of transparency is controlled by computer, looking out over the landscape. This technology is applied outdoors for the first time anywhere in the world.
The production:
A broad canvas period epic production involving many actors and special effects. The production tells of the moving events that took place at the site in biblical days. In the course of the production, panoramic views of the surroundings of the site were filmed and computer-processed to create the effect of a smooth transition between the media and the surrounding landscape.
The display is part of Migdal HaRo’eh tower at ancient Shiloh.
